With animal charities dealing with hundreds of thousands of unwanted animals each year, responsible pet owners know the importance of desexing.
Unless you are specifically planning to use your animal for breeding, we recommend that you have them neutered (removing the reproductive organs).
The recommended timing of neutering will vary depending on your pet’s breed, any previous health conditions and behaviour and in occasional cases (especially in male dogs) may not be necessary at all. We can advise you on the best course of action for your individual companion. Generally we recommend desexing at five to six months of age.
