Dental Care

Regular dental check-ups and a daily routine of oral care are vital to ensure your pet’s health. Dental disease is very common, although even if it is present you may not have noticed any changes in your pet, as they can be good at hiding dental problems.

We recommend a routine dental examination for your dog or cat' every six months in order to ensure that any problems developing in the gums and teeth are identified and corrected early. If any problems are detected, we can examine your pet’s mouth fully under anaesthetic. Dental x-rays can allow us to assess what is going on below the gum line. Visible plaque and tartar will be removed and the teeth polished. If we find any teeth requiring extraction, we’ll always discuss our findings with you so that you are fully aware of the financial implications of any additional action required.

Our knowledgeable Vets and Vet Nurses can offer lots of practical tips and advice to help you maintain the health of your pet’s teeth and gums – please ask us for our recommendations on what Home Dental Care routine will suit you and your pet.
