Microchipping

We recommend microchipping at the time of vaccination or desexing, if not before. A microchip is a tiny silicon chip inserted under the skin between the shoulder blades. It stores your pet’s personalised number and lasts for their entire life. This number is registered on an Australia-wide database. When a Veterinary Clinic, Animal Shelter or Local Council scans a lost animal the microchip number will be linked to your personal contact details, ensuring your pet finds it’s way home to you.

Remember that your pet will still need to be registered with the local council.
